Closed Eyes

Time to close my eyes,
Another sunset is passed,
Days of worry and heartache,
Sorrows long past,
I don't give a care,
Not like I once did,
Let life continue on without me,
I'll just rest here by the road,
So now the aches are leaving,
My senses tell me of something new,
I look behind me and something comes into view,
I don't care what the vision is,
Something wortwhile is due,
I haven't had a change of scenery,
I keep looking at you,
What sight I have,
Past, present and future,
But I can't get a handle on it,
Where I 'll be in the future,
Just closing my eyes brings it all into focus,
My purpose on this earth,
To live and die without knowing,
What I am supposed to do.
